Cheapest Kraft Paper — Void Fill Rolls & Sheets

Kraft paper is the heavyweight void-fill option — literally. It supports more weight than peanuts or air pillows, making it the right choice for heavy items (tools, appliances, cast iron) where lightweight fill would compress and let the item shift. Crumpled kraft paper also wraps items for surface protection without the static risk of bubble wrap. Rolls are cheaper than pre-cut sheets; a tabletop dispenser with a built-in cutter speeds up the packing process.

Buying tips

1.

For void fill, crumple sheets loosely — don't ball them tightly. Loose crumples absorb impact; tight balls transmit it.

2.

A 15"×1200' roll ($20-30) fills about 100 medium boxes. It's the cheapest void-fill per box for heavy shipments.

3.

Honeycomb kraft paper (die-cut mesh pattern) stretches around items like bubble wrap but is 100% recyclable. It costs 2-3× more than plain kraft but customers love the presentation.

4.

Use a tabletop dispenser ($15-25) with a serrated cutter bar. Tearing kraft paper by hand wastes material and produces uneven pieces.
